Intentional Slow Down

Life happens. We often use this phrase to reference how there are things in life that are out of our control, or perhaps as an explanation of why we can’t get things done we would like to. The reality is there are always things beckoning our time and attention. Without a very intentional thought process the outside world can begin to demand more and more. As our days pass, we can begin to feel like spectators or someone who is dragged along more than an active participant in our lives.

While we don’t get to control the people and some events around us, we can internally slow down and invite consideration of our values instead of mindlessly trudging through another day.

Be thoughtful about what you REALLY WANT. What do you value most? You are the only one who can answer this question. Often our immediate desires to feel good in the moment and busy daily happenings don’t create the path to be thoughtful about what we truly value and want to pursue in life.

Slow down. Be intentional. Explore what you really want. Then begin to create daily structure that can lead you, one step at a time, toward success of these true desires in your life. And develop the focus to say no to those things that tear you away from these goals.
